Fond Doux Estate - Heritage Tour |
Fond Doux Estate, two miles from Soufriere, St. Lucia's most scenic town, is nestled in one of the most tranquil spots in St. Lucia. It was one of the earliest estates established by the French in the land grants of 1745 and 1763.
The Estate comprises three trails: The Fond Doux Estate Trail, which is a gentle walk through part of the cultivated area. The Chateaubelair Hill Trail requires some climbing and is rather strenuous. It takes the climber to the high point of the Estate on the Chateaubelair ridge where one can view the famous Soufriere Piton.
The third, the East Ruins Trail, is a gentle incline that takes you to the old ruins in just five (5) minutes. At Fond Doux Estate one can view various activities including traditional cocoa dancing. A delicious lunch is also provided. |
