An environmental policy which clearly communicates the Association's commitment to maintaining the physical, social and cultural environment.

Environmental objectives and targets aimed at eliminating or minimizing major environmental impacts.

Site specific action plans which outline the actions to achieve the stated objectives and targets.

Recording and monitoring procedures to assess the effectiveness of the EMS in protecting the environment.

Both the heritage sites and St. Lucia as a whole stand to benefit significantly from this initiative. Generally, the EMS will help to protect local and global environmental quality, improve efficiency and reduce operating costs and ensure the sustainability of the island's tourism industry.

From a marketing standpoint, it will assist in attracting customers who are seeking environmentally friendly products and services, as well as enhancing image and market share

This proactive approach to environmental management is unique to the tours sub-sector in St. Lucia and in the wider OECS sub-region.
